Gallantry award for two of our boys...

Chris Boundy and John Dugard have come through the club from young nippers to become top Lifeguards in the Cornwall region, working on various beaches in North Cornwall.

Last November they performed one of the most daring rescues ever seen at Trebarwith Srand.

When the tide was in, with a big swell, and the waves smashing against the rocks, a fisherman fell into the water at what has always been considered the worst possible place to be caught around the rocks - the Washing Machine - so called because of the action of the water and rocks creating a dangerous swirling motion.

We are very proud and totally impressed with what they did!!

This is the report in the Western Morning News

Congratulations to Chris and John from all the club, and we shall have a futher report from the RNLI presentation
