Our motorcycle run to the Alps.
I know, - this is nothing to do with the surf club, but I
couldn't resist putting a few photo's up of the trip to the Alps on our
Motorbikes...
It took two days to get to Chamonix where we stayed in a Chalet. It
sleeps about 14, but there were only five of us all week, so plenty
of room.
The nearer we got to the Alps and Geneva on the way down, the wetter
it got. Good job we could dry everything out in the chalet overnight.
We went from the crap weather of Chamonix in France through the Mont
Blanc tunnel into Italy, and also over the mountains into Switzerland,
both
countries
being
hot
and sunny, for some decent riding weather.
Here are some pictures of some big hills. When we took the trip up
in the cable cars to Aiguille du Midi, we all experienced dizzyness
and got light headed and slightly nauseous till we got more used to
the height and less oxygen - very wierd feeling!
More pickies may follow - maybe.....

This is the view from our Chalet in the early morning |

A coffee stop at a bar somewhere in Italy |

Looking across the top of the mountains

You can just make out the town of Chamonix in the valley below the
clouds |

Five unsavoury looking characters - well we are bikers.
The summit of Mont Blanc is behind us.

On the way up in the cable car, you can see some nutters going
down the hard way
