Club History
The club was formed by a group of local surfing enthusiasts
back in 1961,
the clubhouse then being a large garden shed standing where the
toilet
block now stands.
I have some memories of what the
club was like in the earliest days written by
Mr Fred Whiting who was our first Club
Chairman, and has retained his interest in the club over the years.
Indeed, he is the Life President of the club.
See what Fred has to say in the Club History part
2 along with more
past photo's of the club's shenanigans...
Meanwhile, the following photo's are from the more recent past
going back
perhaps 15 years or so.....
Any of our ex members who see themselves here will perhaps
get a kick out of
these pickies!? .. get in touch and let us know how you are.

Let's
start with a pickie of our illustrious Club Chairman -
Hi Les.... |

Don't they look like fresh faced youngsters?
|

And so do these....
|
We used to do demonstations with the Reel, Line and Belt
|
A "Demo" day with the RNLI taking part - this is
a newspaper cutting |

The Raft race was a good laugh!.......
|

They started out ok, but not all the rafts made
it back to the beach in one piece..
|

The Red Barrows was one of our Carnival Floats
that did quite well. Oh look, - there's Les again... |

The things they got up to on Bodmin Moor in 1993.... |

and again |

A cheque presentation - two to be more accurate.
